About me
I have always been passionate about birth. It has been something that I have always been drawn too.
After finding a copy of Ina May Gaskin’s Spiritual Midwifery in university I was hooked on the concept that women could be empowered during this amazing transition into motherhood. Ever since then I have been committed to furthering the gentle birth movement and educating women on their birth alternatives.
I have truly found my bliss, my calling, as a Doula.
I believe that labour and birth are a rite of passage into Motherhood and I am so honoured to be chosen by parents-to-be to assist them during that rite of passage. My true wish would be that every woman could have an empowered birth to start her journey into motherhood on the right foot.
I understand that every woman has their own expectations regarding birth and my goal is to simply help women make informed choices about what they want and to support those goals.
To get the credentials out of the way, I am a DONA trained Doula and on my way to being certified. I have a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from the University of Guelph. I then went to The Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy where I graduated as a Massage Therapist. I have been practicing for the past 10 years in Oakville at a chiropractic clinic that specializes in pregnancy and pediatrics.
I currently live in Brampton with my loving husband of 14 years and our beautiful daughter Diana. Please don’t let the distance scare you away. Brampton really isn’t that far from Toronto. I do births in and around the GTA all the time.
